An indefatigable work ethic and willingness to put in the hours out of hours help Martin Edwards manage his myriad projects, he tells Lynne Hackles
Martin Edwards always wanted to be a writer.‘And from the time of my ninth birthday, I knew I wanted to write detective stories,’ he adds. ‘The full story is told in the introduction to The Golden Age of Murder which, this year, was nominated for an Edgar award from The Mystery Writers of America.’
‘My parents wanted me to get a “proper job”, so I qualified as a solicitor, eventually becoming an equity partner in a large law firm, where I stayed for over thirty years. I’m still a part-time legal consultant. I fit writing in and around my legal work. The two overlap. I’ve written several legal books and many hundreds of articles about legal subjects.
