Solve a mystery or two to create a good travel feature, suggests Patrick Forsyth
Travel is something many of us have mixed feelings about. Most would agree having travelled is certainly good, but equally journeys can make a day trip to Hades look like light relief. All sorts of hazards may intrude. I recently won a writing competition with a piece about the hazards of who you may find yourself sitting next to on a long haul flight. But even a simple journey can be spoiled, for instance by leaves on the line. Such things may annoy but at least they are not inexplicable: autumn brings falling leaves and I do not really expect airlines to vet passengers for excessive flatulence and seat those suffering from it far from me. However other things are inexplicable and, I don’t know about you, but I find that annoying.
