BBC Sky at Night, edited by Chris Bramley, is the UK’s leading popular astronomy magazine. ‘It’s aimed at anyone with an interest in the night sky, in the theories behind it, and the practical stuff – getting out there with binoculars or a telescope,’ said Chris. ‘Part of our BBC remit is to be accessible – to combine the wonder of space with practicality.’
Readers are wide-ranging and well-informed, and include people at school as well as people whose interest in astronomy was sparked by the Apollo moon landings in the 1960s and 1970s. ‘Our readers are comfortable with a technical background, but one of our challenges is catering for all our readers, so we have sections aimed at beginners and some for established astronomers.’
