We answer some of your DIY and maintenance questions, with a little help from the experts

I need to replace the fence in my garden can you recommend a product which will keep the new posts anchored in the ground without the need for any concrete?

K Chadwick, Somerset

Susanne Pinnock, General Manager of SteadyPost Ltd offers this reply…

Lots of gardeners don’t like concrete – it’s heavy to handle, can be unsightly, is hard to remove andnot very eco-friendly. The traditional alternative, spikes, must be sledgehammered in and it’s difficult to get them straight, which means your fence post won’t be straight either. Plus you risk damage to underground cables and roots.

We’ve designed FenceFins to get over these issues. They’re easy to use and simple to get right – so you get a strong, straight fence post without too much physical effort.
