THERE’S no doubt Ged Corcoran (above) has served his apprenticeship as Ireland coach.

He was right-hand man to Mark Aston, with whom he still works at Championship club Sheffield, at the 2013 and 2017 World Cups, and remained assistant during the threeand-a-half-year reign of Stuart Littler, whom he replaced as coach in April.
