NCL ROUND-UP
THORNHILL TROJANS are off the foot of the PREMIER DIVISION – thanks largely to head coach Danny Ratcliffe and mercurial scrum-half Joel Gibson.
The Dewsbury outfit nosed ahead of Egremont Rangers by posting a surprise 23-20 victory over visitors WATH BROW HORNETS, who stay fifth and on course for a place in the Championship play-offs.
The Trojans, who had lost their previous nine games, looked destined for yet another defeat, in the only topflight fixture of a truncated programme, when Clarke Riley and Sam Curwen crossed for the Cumbrians in the first 13 minutes, Curwen improving both efforts to help establish a 12-0 lead.
