Charlotte Halliday has been drawing aspects of London for over 50 years and this retrospective exhibition at the Bankside Gallery, London (5 to 29 July) brings together a collection of work that reveals her on-going obsession with both classical and domestic London. “The changing light on architecture excites me,” she says. “I cruise the streets in my car until something catches my eye and I settle down to paint, typically on Turner’s blue Ingres paper, my tiny Winsor & Newton watercolour box on my left thumb. I have Radio 3 or Radio 4 for company; cricket in the summer, rugby in the winter.” Telephone 020 7928 7521.
