Open source art accelerates in 2023
Digital artists are in for some interesting times as leading graphics utilities GIMP, Krita and Inkscape introduce exciting new changes.
The future is bright for open source digital artists. In fact, 2023 looks to be positively luminescent.
If you’re familiar with GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program), you’ll know that it offers an open source alternative to many of the features found in commercial programs such as Adobe Photoshop. You’ll also know that nothing happens in a hurry, given that the current version of GIMP (2.99.10) was six years in the making.
