MORE Pi FOR EVERYONE
Les Pounder works with groups such as the Raspberry Pi Foundation to help boost people’s maker skills.
The last few years have been rough for us all. A (hopefully) once-in-a-lifetime pandemic affected every facet of our lives. A big impact was felt in the global supply chain, and while the Raspberry Pi was relatively untouched for a while, measures had to be taken to protect the supply. For single purchases – ie the general public – we had to make do with a trickle of Raspberry Pis. Sometimes this trickle flowed a little faster. I’ve just spent a few days going through global restock data for Tom’s Hardware, https://bit.ly/ lxf307pi, and over the last 78 weeks, the Raspberry Pi 4 has been in stock for 76. Remember, that this is for all official resellers across the globe, so there were times when the Raspberry Pi 4 (and many others) went out of stock for a few weeks in a certain location. The restock data doesn’t tell us how many Pis were sent, just that a reseller received new stock.
