Will Universal Apps run on macOS before Big Sur?
> Making an app Universal involves adding executable code so that it can run natively on an Apple silicon Mac as well. Those new systems will require macOS 11, but if its Intel code is compatible with earlier versions of macOS, the app should still run fine on all those it supports.
How to find how much space is used by a snapshot?
> There’s no command tool to report this, apart from tmutil for Time Machine snapshots, and Disk Utility can’t show this for individual snapshots, although it reports their total as purgeable. The only way we know of finding this for any snapshot is in Carbon Copy Cloner from bit.ly/mac357cbncpy.
Lost control of Desktop image
Q I’ve set one of my own photos as my Desktop. When I try opening the Desktop & Screen Saver pane, the Desktop tab won’t open properly, and just goes white. What’s wrong?
