Why can’t my Mac find the latest macOS update?
> Heavy demand can delay its initial availability. Otherwise, suspect your update service has failed and restart your Mac. If Software Update still can’t find it, try starting up in safe mode on Intel
Macs with the Shift key held, or from recovery mode on Apple silicon Macs.
How many login attempts am I allowed?
> Only 10 attempts are allowed in the login window, with increasing time delays imposed after the third. Following those you get another 10 in recovery, but you really don’t want to go there. If you’re struggling, click on the ‘?’ at the right of the password box to see the hint and options to reset your password.
To preserve space for another volume, you can either set its Reserve size, or limit the backup volume with a Quota size.
