Laptops dominate
IN THE 12 months ended March 2023, on its own figures, Apple shipped about $33.8bn worth of Macs. However, the company does not disclose sales by model. The latest report by market research firm Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) claims that in this period, “laptops accounted for over three–quarters of Mac computer sales.” On CIRP’s figures, the laptop lines’ share increased by 3% from 74% last fall to 77%, with the MacBook Pro line at 43% and MacBook Air at 34%.
