Quick–fire questions & answers
CAN APPLE SILICON MACS SUPPORT ECC MEMORY?
Not as far as anyone knows. Error–correction code (ECC) memory has check bits to detect errors, so needs special hardware controllers to take advantage of that. Apple has always been reluctant to offer ECC memory, as it increases hardware costs and only rarely solves any problems.
HOW CAN I TELL WHAT CAUSED A KERNEL PANIC?
When your Mac starts up again afterwards, a minute or so after you log back into it, you should see a window containing the panic log, inviting you to send it to Apple. Before doing so, select it all with Cmd+A, copy and paste it into a TextEdit document.
