THE ORIGINAL ONLINE Apple Store was unveiled on November 10, 1997, alongside the PowerPC G3 chip, Power Mac G3 and PowerBook G3. That’s nearly four years before the first physical store opened its doors. Not only did it give consumers a place online where they could buy products directly from Apple, that the company itself controlled, it ultimately played a key role in its revival after Steve Job’s return.
