AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT
Diminishing returns at the top of the product stack
It looks and behaves like the RX 6800 XT; it’s just a bit faster thanks to the extra cores.
THEY SAY imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. If so, the Radeon RX 6800 XT must be feeling pretty dang good about itself. Nearly every aspect of the reference RX 6900 XT is the same as the RX 6800 XT, except it has 80 CUs instead of 72. That means at best we’d expect a 10 percent bump in performance; in practice it’s often less. Along with the incremental increase in shader core counts comes a painful 50 percent jump in price.
