WE’VE PLAYED as some strange things in our time. A bipedal cow, the manifestation of a sun goddess as a wolf, any number of angry bald white men. But a simple cat? That’s a new one. Although, haven’t we been playing as cats in games all along, scrambling over platforms, and swatting things out of our way?
This cat does all that and has a cute ‘miaow on request’ button. A slim and gingery (there’s no character customization, which surely must lose the game a point or two) member of a colony, or family, of kitties living in industrial ruins long since returned to nature. While huge rusted pipes and slabs of concrete are the order of the day, they’re covered in moss, creepers, and all the usual signs of abandonment.
And that’s how the game starts, your feline gang running free in the ruins until you miss a jump and tumble into a rubbish-strewn underground tunnel.
