Mini World  |  Mini World Summer 2013
The Mini has achieved so much over the years but none of it would have been possible without the people behind its success. From clubman racers like Terry Hart, whose Cooper S is featured on pages 28-33, to Mini motorsport heroes like the men pictured above, they are all an important part of
what made the Mini such a success story. A highlight of the Beaulieu Mini Cooper Day is meeting up with these Mini celebs and hearing their tales. You can see photos from Beaulieu on pages 100-
102. Other show reviews include L2B, Japan Mini Day, Thistle Run, Hay Mini Nationals and Brands
Hatch Mini Festival At Brands I met up with another Mini racing legend, Barrie 'Whizzo'
Williams who is a familiar face at Mini and classic car events. He's a true Mini enthusiast and a real
gentleman. He showed me a photo of him collecting his new Cooper S from a dealership in 1963. What a great memento! It was the first Cooper S to win an international rally so it's really fantastic that he shares it with Mini fans at shows. 1960s rally Minis have inspired Eddie Cox so much that he and his friend Dave Palmer built a Works rally style Cooper S. The attention to detail is fantastic, which you can see for yourself as it's this issue's cover star.
I hope you enjoy the issue.
