Backscene
Railway modelling is a fairly gentle, passive hobby. CHRIS LEIGH ponders railway adventures outside his comfort zone.
I guess we all have our ‘comfort zone’ and face limitations on how far we are willing to push its boundaries. Prostate cancer treatment is certainly limiting in that respect. Visits to ‘the loo’ take on a sense of urgency and one doesn’t want to get ‘caught short,’ so outings and long journeys are curtailed.
I’ve started to get beyond that, and a recent long journey to a family funeral was accomplished without incident. A week later, while my car was in the repair shop, I spent some time lineside on the Midland main line. It was my first train-watching episode for a couple of years and was incident free, so now I’m up for a summer of getting out and about.
