On-U Sound and Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry’s experimental spirit are present in this mystic psych four-way between Comet Is Coming’s Betamax, Ruth Goller, Ed Briggs and Mr Noodles. Full of eerie clatters and echoed dread, its ghostly transmissions offset by bright electronics and some Pablo-like melodica.

A second LP of mysterioso pop from the NY trio of Dirty Projectors, Lucius and Pavo Pavo alumni. And if that suggests so many missing vowels and edgy haircuts, then this has far more affinity with Talk Talk’s flickering candlelit melancholy or Karen Carpenter’s calming contralto on standout Cora Lu.
