MEMBERS of the Fort William branch of the Scottish Women’s Institute enjoyed an informal evening at their March meeting chatting and decorating knitted twiddle muffs.
The twiddle muffs are colourful knitted wool cylinders, decorated inside and out with pompoms, beads, ribbons, buttons and small toys. They are used by dementia patients who find twiddling with something in their hands soothing. The muffs also keep their hands warm. The winner of the best decorated muff was 1. Wilma McPhail; 2. Sheongh Robertson and 3. Wilma McPhail.
