KILMALLIE Community Council is calling on members of the community to help with restorate Banavie war memorial.
Members discussed ways to fund and carry out work to the monument on the hillside above the main road in Banavie. Chairwoman Christine Hutchison said in a public appeal to local residents: ‘Kilmallie Community Council has been trying for two or three years to progress a grant application for improvements to make access easier for folk who are elderly or infirm. ‘We are keen to achieve this before the November 2018 centenary of the First World War.’
The community council is looking for anyone with suitable experience to help complete applications, get tenders and arrange work.
