Picture gallery: Oban Winter Festival was ‘hailed’ a success

OBAN Winter Festival has once again been hailed a success, writes David McPhee.

The word hail is particularly relevant this year, as millions of the little white stones pelted the town on numerous occasions.

Competitors in this year’s Tartan Dash event had to endure one of these showers, but that didn’t deter 60 people showing up to take part in the 5km run.

The nine-day festival offered something for everyone, from dancing and haggis hurling to gin tasting and fireworks. ‘I really want to highlight that it’s the whole community coming together,’ one of the committee members said.
