A DETERMINED, fundraising duo planning to become the first adventurers to circumnavigate mainland Britain in an open canoe will set off from Strontian.

Colin Skeath and his nephew, Davis Gould-Duff, are making the attempt in a Swift Temagami craft and will leave from outside the Sunart Hotel on Sunday April 30.

The pair plan to cover the 2,500 miles clockwise. When conditions allow, they will take the shortest route between daily stops, taking maximum advantage of each tide.
