An Oban woman had nearly seven times the legal amount of alcohol in her system when police stopped her car, Oban Sheriff Court has heard.
Ann Marie Birnie, 48, of 10 West Bay Flats, admitted the offence, which took place on October 29 last year. Procurator fiscal Eoin McGinty told the court last week that police were acting on an anonymous tip-off.
Her breath test measured 149 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath; the legal limit is 22. Her defence agent Kevin McGinness told the court of ‘the very difficult personal circumstances’ Birnie had to deal with following the break-up of her marriage.
