Lochaber boxers shine in front of huge home crowd


FORT William played host to a big night of boxing last Saturday as Lochaber Phoenix Boxing Club hosted another captivating show.

Boxers had the chance to put their training to the test in front of a big crowd in the Nevis Centre where 10 bouts took place, featuring five boxers from Fort William taking on opponents from across the country.

Top of the bill was comeback king and light heavyweight fighter Nathan McDade, who faced Bannockburn’s Ryan Malcolm. Malcolm was a very aggressive southpaw but Mc- Dade showed great maturity to use good lateral movement and peppered the oncoming Malcolm with jabs and straight backhands.
