DISTORTION
It’s a wide spread of results for uncorrected distortion
I n our lab tests, we found that the RF 24-70mm F2.8L IS USM, RF 24-105mm F4L IS USM and RF 28-70mm F2L USM produced fairly little barrel distortion at the short end of their zoom ranges, and quite low amounts of pincushion at the long end. Nowadays, that’s the exception rather than the norm. Many recent lenses for mirrorless cameras are designed with an emphasis on them being compact and lightweight. As you’ll see from this graph, most rely heavily on automatic in-camera correction, which can’t be switched off in camera menus.
