Die After Sunset

iFORMAT PS4 / ETA 2021 PUB BADLAND PUBLISHING DEV PLAYSTARK / PLAYERS TBC

They look like gummy Muppets but they’re here for world domination, and only you can stop them. This colourful roguelike shooter has a simple but addictive core loop: survive waves of alien goobers and then the level boss arrives to up the ante. Each stage is randomly generated, and the challenge is to collect as much loot, guns, and alien tech before the big bad arrives so you stand a chance against these gloopy monstrosities. You’re able to delay the boss’ arrival by completing missions and tasks, encouraging exploration. But that end-of-stage creature is always lurking at the back of your mind, the timer ticking towards the inevitable confrontation. Despite the ‘toon visuals the setup ensures a tension you’ll find addictive.
