Caravans go from strength to strength
Back in 2006, the Top Gear TV show went caravanning. After a series of mishaps, the caravan caught fire. Yes, of course it was all staged, but the boys had a good chuckle at caravanning’s expense. Some 14 years later, caravans were back on the show, for a drag race between an Audi and a Lamborghini. There was the usual banter, but this time no caravans caught fire, dangled from a crane in a game of giant conkers, or flew beneath an airship and crashed into a field. The Knaus tourers ended the episode undamaged. Perhaps it wasn’t as funny as caravan stunts of the past, but I call t hat progress.
