Plenty of time for electric to improve
A lot of caravanners are clearly concerned by the Government’s decision to bring the ban on new petrol and diesel cars forward, to 2030. Hybrids are getting a further five years’ grace, but only if they can travel “a substantial distance” on electric power alone.
Should we be worried? I wouldn’t push the panic button just yet. This will be the end of the sale of new vehicles, not a ban on using the millions of petrol and diesel cars that will still be on the roads in 2030. Think back 10 years to how few electric cars there were. We have the best part of another decade for the cars, and the charging infrastructure, to improve.
