At last, we can start to plan ahead
The emergence of vaccines means we should at last be able to look forward to the prospect of touring in Europe, something that until a year ago was commonplace, and resume our love affair with France and Spain for their sunshine and accessibility. But things can never be the same. For one thing, the necessity of staying put has meant we have rediscovered Britain. We have found glorious beaches, wild seascapes, breathtaking views, dramatic national parks and tranquil corners of woodland and garden. The summer weather played its part for a brief respite in 2020; now let’s hope that science can offer something much more permanent in 2021.
