MY PROG
The great and good of progressive music give us a glimpse into their prog worlds. As told to Grant Moon

Where’s home?
Clapton in Hackney, London. I’ve been here 20 years - lately it’s become trendy, and so has the rent!
Earliest prog memory?
I can trace a line between what I do now to hymns and TV themes. The descant part at the end of O Come All Ye Faithful is so proggy, and there’s a real monosynth vibe to [70s detective show] The Rockford Files.
First prog album you bought?
Neil’s Heavy Concept Album, by Neil [Nigel Planer] from The Young Ones. The comedy is a bit dated but it was lovingly done - produced by Dave Stewart from Hatfield And The North, with covers of Pink Floyd’s The Gnome, Incredible String Band’s The Amoeba Song, Golf Girl by Caravan. It was a gateway album into that Canterbury colour I’ve been into ever since.
