GREENSLADE AND THOMAS
G&T ANGEL AIR
Affable union of two men old enough to know better.
Blues veteran David Thomas and keyboard legend Dave Greenslade play large on their initials on the cover of their first collaborative album, which depicts a lemon wedge plopping into a glass of gin and tonic. G&T is easy going rather than splashy: moving between blues, ballads and hints of prog, it boasts a seasoned band and some well-written material. Thomas has a fine, pure voice, and, although easy to forget by the size of his cuffs in the 70s, Greenslade had been a leading R&B player in the previous decade with Chris Farlowe And The Thunderbirds and Geno Washington.
