You might think the world has enough instruments (after the trombone and the stylophone what else did we need?) but the South Korean Hanago is persuading me there might be room for one more.
Faintly medieval looking (and sounding), its
16 strings can be plucked or thwacked to make a zithery, dulcimer-esque sound, and they’re laid out in a more intuitive way than a guitar or piano keyboard – just one fret, to pitch each string up a semitone. And at $99 (£80) for Kickstarter backers, it’s a bargain too.
