Sonic Cathedral began life back in 2004 as a club night celebrating shoegaze, the short-lived musical movement from the turn of the 1990s that’s been revived on numerous occasions since and has now become a bit of a catch-all term for any music with lots of reverb. The remit of the night also took in the inspirations and influences of the movement, which allowed it – and the label that followed two years later in 2006 – to be a much broader church, taking in everything from Pink Floyd to Popol Vuh.
