JETHRO TULL
War Child II PARLOPHONE
Outtakes and oddities get the Wilson glow-up treatment.
Arriving almost two years later than originally scheduled, War Child II is something of an odd one in Tull’s extensive catalogue. The 11 tracks date from the same 1973-1974 sessions that produced the War Child album itself and feature the classic Tull line-up that included Barriemore Barlow on drums, John Evan on keys and bassist Jeffrey Hammond alongside Ian Anderson and Martin Barre. All the music here has been released previously, whether on compilations (Nightcap and M.U. –The Best Of Jethro Tull), on the War Child 40th-anniversary edition, or the 1976 EP Ring Out, Solstice Bells.
