A look back at the memorable 2013-14 season where waterfowlers enjoyed the best of times and the worst of times. What marked the year; once again; was a lack of a classic low-pressure weather event that usually corresponds with mass migrations. True; there were some good; even notable pushes of birds; but major storm systems did not account for these movements—cold weather did—all good for waterfowlers on the receiving end of bird movement; not so good for those on the upper reaches of flyways where water was hard. Of course; none of this seemed to help the Pacific Flyway much; where dry; high pressure dominated. Read more….
