Argyll and Bute MSP Michael Russell is a keen conservatory viticulturalist. Mr Russell said: ‘We had visitors this afternoon who expressed, as many do, surprise at the profusion of grapes growing in our conservatory. We have got used to them.
‘Year by year this Argyll harvest seems to grow though that has happened only after many years when the vine didn’t look as if it would survive another season. Long may it last, not least because the whole thing provides such a feature and such good shade on a hot day.’
