CLANNAD
IN A LIFETIME
BMG
★★★★
Marking both their 50th anniversary and a farewell tour, In A Lifetime arrives at a point when Clannad deserve reassessing. Patronised at their 80s commercial peak as Enya’s former band and Gaelic folkies only really useful for soundtracking windswept moments in arty film and television dramas, the Brennan family now appear trailblazers for the alt-folk movement and for singing in their own language, rather than bowing to English commerciality.
