October’s issue of Coarse Angling Today is available to download now!

This is what’s on offer:
- Phil Smith – Barbel Challenge
Phil talks us through the northern leg of the venture, as three anglers set off on a quest to catch 14 double-figure barbel from 14 rivers in 14 nights.
- Lee Swords – The Tidal Trent, a Place of ‘Happy Accidents’
Lee explains why not targeting anything in particular on the tidal Trent can result in a few unintended, yet very welcome, visitors to the bank.
- Lewis Baldwin – Not Enough Days in the Week
Lewis talks us through a busy couple of months, in which he experienced joy, disappointment, surprise and pride.
- Tony Miles – My Rubbish Fetish
Tony admits to a fetish for all things rubber… when it comes to hookbaits.
- Stuart Jupp: Peg One Think Tank – A Deadly Combination
Stuart proves the effectiveness of the helicopter rig with a brilliant mixed bag at Surrey’s Badshot Lea Fishery.
- Paul Monkman – Tydd St Giles Country Club
Coarse Angling Today assistant editor, Paul Monkman, and his wife travelled to Cambridgeshire to spend two nights at a golf and country club that also hosts a prolific fishing lake.
- Paul Garner: Fishing Photography Part 5 – Doing It for Yourself
Paul presents the fifth and penultimate part of his six-part series.
- Dominic Garnett – No Margin for Bream
Slimy anecdotes, distance tactics and some of Britain’s windiest lakes form the key parts to Bob James’ approach to bream.

Plus, Guest Editorial by Nick Watkins, Tackled Up, Spezzie Watch, News, Press Releases and Reviews and the Where’s the Catch? Competition.

Coarse Angling Today broke the mould for coarse fishing magazines in the UK when it launched in 2001. Prior to the advent of Coarse Angling Today all magazines for the coarse fisherman wanting to improve their fishing techniques had become almost dominated by a total coverage of carp fishing.

However, we realised that a more distinctive and specialised approach to coarse fishing magazines was required. An approach which gave total prominence to fishing for coarse fish species like barbel, tench, roach, bream, grayling and more. Our competitors have struggled to catch up ever since as we show them that not every coarse angler is only interested in carp, and that the modern coarse fisherman is just as likely to target other species.

Learn the skills of the UK’s experts as they go in search of a mixture of species and keep abreast of the news from within the trade. You can even get your hands on the latest products through our regular competitions, including our highly respected Where's the Catch? and Junior Angling Stars competitions.

If you want to catch the biggest specimens in your lake and be much more consistent with your results, then this mag is for you!
