Lockdown has been a rollercoaster. From bearing the brunt of collective angst to concern for our fellow man, and getting lost in the endless roll of Netflix series and cooking along the way. Endless shepherd’s pies. Mash potato from your knees to your armpits... However, one constant mood-booster for me has been watching the long, deep breath that Mother Nature has been able to take. As a result, it’s given us a reality we couldn’t have imagined a year ago.
For a while, the collective consciousness around the urgency for more sustainable living has been ramping up. Brands have been finding ways to reduce their impact on the planet whilst still serving the consumer, which is the best we seem to be able to get for now. However, the lockdown has given us a dramatic image of what the planet could really look like. In some places, the images of nature thriving are so delicious and crisp that I dread to think what will happen when we rush back to our former lives.
