Food, glorious food! Hot sausage and mustard… Just one of the many dishes that Oliver Twist and his friends in the workhouse sang and salivated about.
One of the themes for this issue is food; with projects, a feature and a collection, I hope that when you browse through the magazine you’ll be in a similar frame of mind as Oliver.
We begin with a step by step project from popular contributor Sadie Brown of Homeward Flight. Working with the new Fimo Professional polymer clay range from Staedtler, Sadie’s created a ‘harvest of seasonal bounty’ forming bright and vibrant vegetables which will look fabulous in any kitchen scene. Seeing that we Brits love a good barbeque, and we’re in the height of summer, Kelly Murdie of Dinky Diner Miniatures has used a selection of shades to create chicken and vegetable kebabs. Sandwiched between the two food tutorials and featured on the front cover, Caroline of Hummingbird Miniatures takes time out to explain about her love for Mexican food and Cinco de Mayo, Spanish for ‘the fifth of May’, celebrating Mexican culture and heritage. Besides the above, Stephanie Guy makes a welcome return and produces another miniature masterclass, this time re-creating a piece by Kandinsky, Jane Kubiesca goes on the hunt for trolls and Moi Ali recreates an Edwardian scene.
