GHOST OF A HEAVY HEART I wanted to create an ethereal and melancholic beauty for this work, while conveying feelings of loss and remorse.
Where did you grow up and how has this influenced your art?
I grew up around the Southern Ontario region in Canada. I wouldn’t say that the cities influenced my work, but more the small patches of nature I found and the suburban landscape as a mundane presence. Even if a nearby forest was manicured, I liked that feeling of escaping to it.
