THE BLACK FOREST, GERMANY

The whole of the Black Forest has been designated a nature park - the largest in Germany. It’s one of Europe’s loveliest forests (pictured right), spreading a thick coniferous blanket over the valleys of southwest Germany. It’s special all year-round, but particularly on golden summer evenings (June to August), crisp autumn days (especially September), and when frosted with snow during the winter.
