A cream tea at Oban’s Great Western Hotel on Saturday raised £322 in aid of Cancer Research, helped by tiers of cake and live music from Neil Angus, Rosie Stevenson and the Catalina Sisters.
Volunteers for the Oban branch of the Cancer Research Committee baked the scones, pancakes, sponges and truThes, while clotted cream and pots of jam came all the way from Cornwall, supplied free by Rodda’s and Tiptree.
Prizes were also donated for the raThe, and the organisers would like to thank all those who gave so generously to make the event so enjoyable. Another event for your diaries: National Cream Tea Day this year will be June 29.
