Paintwork gets attention

COSMETIC work is underway on new-build LNWR 4-4-0 No. 1215 Prince George by the LNWR George the Fifth Steam Locomotive Trust at Crewe Heritage Centre.

The cab handrails have been removed for welding and polishing and it is planned to paint inside the cab shortly. The goal is to apply gloss paint on the parts which currently have matt black primer, with red on the buffer beam and red inside the cab. It is hoped the loco will look its best for the year ahead.
