What is it? Almost all commercial gyms now have Olympic Lifting Platforms. Although they are useful and versatile bits of kit, unfortunately for many gym goers – especially women – they can be the most intimidating too. An Olympic Lifting Platform is similar to a regular squat rack, with the main difference being that it’ll have a slick wood floor surrounded by rubber, designed specifically so that barbells will bounce when they’re dropped after an Olympic Lift.
