What New Zealand’s Brendan Duncker has done, is he has taken his Mk1 Escort, applied the restomod principle and give it a savagely contemporary
twist – not just throwing in a bunch of modern numbers, but reframing the very concept of what a Mk1 represents into something else. Something that didn’t exist all those decades ago when the dogbone Escort first reared its head and
scampered onto the scene. What we’re talking about here, if you hadn’t surmised as much from the photos, is drifting. This, by any measure, is a masterstroke.
