2 SPICY
DEVELOPER: SEGA YEAR: 2007 GENRE: LIGHTGUN
It’s always been fun to partner up with a friend to take on terrorists, zombies or common criminals in lightgun games, but the opportunity to blow your buddies away is considerably rarer.
2 Spicy (or Too Spicy) gives you the choice of six characters, each with a unique firearm and different attributes – for example, Ming Hua is fast and her dual pistols carry a lot of ammo, but her defence is low, while Laurence has high attack and defence but is slow and must reload his shotgun frequently. Once your character is chosen, you can take on a human player or the Story Mode, which is a succession of solo missions against CPU opponents with the odd bonus game thrown in.
Two foot pedals allow you to run left and right, both to get a better aim at your opponent and to find cover from incoming fire, but your cover can be destroyed. That’s not the only reason you’ll be constantly running around, because training your gun sight on an opponent for long enough allows you to zoom in for more precise and powerful shots. If you manage to deliver a head shot while zoomed in, you can really punish your opponent. If your opponent has managed to zoom in on you, a flashing red border around the screen will warn you to take evasive action.
