ARE GAMES REALLY EXPENSIVE NOW?
Dear Retro Gamer, I’m fascinated by the debate on the rising price of AAA games and totally understand people feeling challenged or ripped off by prices hitting £70. That said, I forked out 50 quid for Ocarina Of Time back in 1998 (£112 at current prices). I tend towards optimism, so I think the cost of games is less of a problem than the tedious shift towards virtual game cards and monthly passes that keep you locked in.

While you’re absolutely right that games are still relatively cheap once inflation is considered, the cost of living feels far more of a factor now than it did then, Ian. We absolutely agree with you on Virtual Key Cards and monthly passes. As collectors, the former is something we don’t like at all.
