Christmas
is a time for feasting – and not just gastronomically. As ever at this time of year, there is a smorgasbord of televisual delicacies for us to gorge upon – so let’s take a gander at the menu.
Breaking with prandial convention, we’re starting with a sweet item: the final ever episode of Gavin & Stacey (BBC One, Christmas Day). Five years ago, 18.5 million viewers were left agog as Nessa (Ruth Jones) popped the question to Smithy (James Corden) before the credits rolled. It’s time to find out what happened next.
Rumours abound that the show will feature a wedding, but other details have been kept under wrapping paper. What we do know is that all the familiar faces are back, including Joanna Page, Mathew Horne, Alison Steadman, Larry Lamb, Rob Brydon and Sheridan Smith.
